Steven C. Miller, the director of the not-great but ambitious Automaton Transfusion will be directing the remake of Motel Hell. Yes, it's a remake, but Miller has some chops as a director and at least it's not a remake of a foreign horror film that is far better than the Americanized version.Tomorrow night marks the premiere of VH1's Scream Queens, judged in part by James Gunn of Dawn of the Dead remake and Slither fame. You can check out the trailer below. May God have mercy on our souls.
The Hollywood Reporter's site is reporting that the screen version of Cormac McCarthy's (No Country for Old Men) apocalyptic family drama The Road may not be completed in time for a 2008 release. The Viggo Mortensen vehicle (clever, I know) could be pushed back to 2009.
You can check out the production blog for the Night of the Demons remake here. The first post is up from writer Jace Anderson, and features a teaser pic of original Demons' star Linnea Quigley, looking much as she did years ago. Costume-wise, I mean. Otherwise, not so much.
Jim Henson's former studio, now led by son Brian, is daring to go where no Muppet has gone before - into adult-oriented film. The Happytime Murders will be directed by Brian Henson, and will tell the tale of a world where puppets co-exist with people. When the stars of the former kids' show "The Happytime Gang" begin to show up dead, a hard-drinking detective must solve the crime. Although not technically horror, how can I resist a post that includes "hard-drinking" and "Muppet" in the same item?
