As romantic as the idea was at the time, I was nevertheless wrong about the name of these cream roses that I featured recently in another post.
Earlier to bloom than the others, this Lichfield Angel Austin rose is quite different from the Bride's Dream rose, which I called it, and now think isn't an Austin rose at all! Proof positive of what I have been telling you for years! . . . I am no gardener. . .
Both of these roses are new to our rose beds and were only planted late last summer, so we are only just getting to know them. The Lichfield Angel, as you can see, is a creamy white. While the Bride's Dream, shown further along in this post, is a dreamy pale pink color.
The Bride's Dream rosebuds had already been exposed to very hot temperatures on the south side of the house, so you are seeing them in their gardeny imperfection, but I realized my mistake the minute I saw them in bloom this morning.
A gorgeous pale pink. And I suddenly feel like I have to find and plant tons more! All of the roses seem to have spent themselves very fast this year.
A pink posie posing with Limoges. . . .
Ahhh me! If only the bouquets would last as long as the photographs do!
(See more of my new teacup here.)
So nice that you stopped by for a look!
